Prefers a home without cats
Sasha is a beautiful Husky/Heeler mix who draws you in immediately with her beautiful icy blue eyes. Her coloring is stunning and her eyes are even more striking.
Sasha is the best girl, she’s medium energy and happily coexists with her foster siblings, playing with them often, but still finding time for a good nap to wind down. She’s a great dog for the average owner, but would definitely enjoy walks around the neighborhood or hikes and adventures too!
Sasha is compatible with other dogs big and small, but would prefer if they stayed away from her food and high value treats. She isn’t a believer in the mantra of “sharing is caring” Feeding separately is no big deal for her though. Sasha DOES NOT like cats.
Sasha is currently located in Quinter, KS but can be transported anywhere nationwide for an approved adopter.

Special Needs: Aggie has a condition called IVDD, she will need to be carried up and down stairs and should not be allowed to jump on and off furniture. Her back is semi-fragile and risk of reinjury will need to be as minimal as possible. She will require a joint supplement and turmeric to support her care.
-
Good in a home with other dogs, cats & children
Aggie is the cutest little girl who came to SNARR with some special needs due to an issue with her back. She was recommended to be euthanized but was still happy scooting around, so SNARR was contacted to see if we could help. Aggie isn’t so special needs anymore after some love and care!
* she had a back injury & the vets thought she'd never walk again so her "owners" wanted to put her down, but she was still SO incredibly happy scooting around, the vets asked her foster and SNARR to take her.
* she really didn't care that she was pulling herself around, it certainly didn't make her slow down & she was still able to potty on her own, but something incredible happened...
* Her Foster started making her stand to eat, she'd fall over & I'd just stand her back up, over & over & over...well, she remembered how to stand, then walk, then run. There's no stopping her now!
* she does fall down from time to time, but hops right back up & keeps going. She should be carried up & down steps & should not be allowed to jump on or off furniture. Small steps are OK, lots of steps or high furniture may hurt her back again. She has a condition called IVDD.
* she loves her stuffy toys, her Kong ball & good scratches/rubs!
* she knows to potty on a pee pad while her foster is at work but prefers to potty outside.
* she is fine with my Jindo, she's not afraid of big dogs, but we think she'd prefer her food & treats separate from others.
* she's taking a joint supplement & turmeric.
Please share her. She'd really LOVE to have a family of her very own.
She is currently in Georgia, but we transport anywhere to an approved adopter!

Nyla
-
Australian Cattle dog/blue heeler
-
Young (1-2yrs). Female
-
House-trained
-
Vaccinations up to date & spayed
-
Good in a home with other dogs, cats & children
Nyla is a beautiful blue heeler hailing from the vast plains of Kansas who is looking to make the Northeast her home! The only thing prettier than Nyla’s coloring is her disposition. She’s a people pleaser all the way and wants nothing more than to receive affection from her people...a heeler through and through.
Nyla has had no training that we are aware of. She’s learning commands and recall and has done well so far...definitely a dog that could be molded to do a farm job if you’re looking for a farm friend. Inside homes only though!
Nyla loves to play and would love to have a friend at home with her but it is not necessary. She will need an active home either way, either a farm with a job or a family that likes to walk and hike. Nyla would also be a dog would would excel with nose work, dock diving, agility, etc. Nyla is good with other dogs and children, so established families are welcome to apply!
Nyla is currently located in Pittsburgh, PA but can be transported nationwide for an approved adopter. Please email [email protected] with questions about Nyla or call/text 724-713-0458.

Groot
-
Pit Bull/Great Dane Mix
-
Large (75lbs) Adult (4 1/2yrs). Male
-
Vaccinations up to date & neutered
-
Special needs: Deaf
-
Approximate Age: 4 1/2 (Nov 2016)
Groot is a rather large boy and has been known to forget how big he is when playing with other animals.
Groot has been known to be rather rambunctious so a home with a dog that can handle that would be best. Also, because of his lack of size knowledge, it is not recommended that he go to a home with cats or any other small animals because he could unintentionally hurt them when all he means to do is play. He literally thinks he's just an enormous puppy!
At his foster home, there's a few horses that he is no longer to hang out with since he keep nipping their legs to try to get them to pay attention to him.
Groot is vert sweet & once he learns to trust you, he's extremely loyal & his goofy personality comes out.
He does get alittle anxious when left home alone but usually a bone filled with peanut butter does the trick at keeping him occupied.
For the first week & a half of being in his new foster home, he was nervous & would cry whenever he couldn't see his foster mom but has since calmed down enough that he's ok for about 4 hours alone or about 6 hours with another dog to keep me company.
*Transport to any approved home within the US is provided at no additional cost.
Currently Groot is located in Quinter KS

Skyy

Pit Bull Terrier Mix

-
House-trained
-
Vaccinations up to date & spayed
-
Good in a home with children.
-
Prefers a home without dogs, cats & other small animals
-
Special Needs: Allergies
Skyy came to the rescue back in 2016 from a high kill shelter in Texas. The conditions weren't the best to say the least and oh yeah, she was SUPER pregnant. Not a good place for a expecting mom. Thankfully, she was taken from there just in time and was able to have her puppies in a foster home. Skyy was even thrown a huge baby shower by a ton of people who follow SNARR! We were all so happy that she was able to have her babies in a home & not shelter but the excitement quickly became tragedy. Not long after giving birth, almost half of her babies passed away- only 4 survived.
Skyy is incredibly adorable and hands down the most wiggly tushed pocket pittie youll ever meet! She has never met a person she didnt like, however dogs...not too fond of them or any other furry little creatures. She has a high prey drive and is very smart when it comes down to it- Skyy can be a pro stalker and is lightning fast so its best that the temptation isn't there in forever home. Give her any kind of human though and its nothing but hugs (literally, she give hugs) and kisses!
Due to having allergies, she takes Benedryl and cannot eat chicken.
Transport to any approved home within the US can be provided at no additional fee
Currently Skyy is located in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Annie
-
Border Collie & Labrador Retriever Mix
-
Adult (2yrs). Female. Medium
-
House-trained
-
Vaccinations up to date, spayed
-
Good in a home with: Other dogs, cats, children.
Annie was rescued from a kill shelter in south Louisiana where she was suffering from a case of demodex mange. We’ve cleared up her itchies and she’s ready to find her forever home!
Annie is about two years old but still has puppy energy!
Annie LOVES to play, she loves stuffed toys, balls, ropes...she will play with anything and everything. Annie has never really had the chance to be a puppy so she’s just learning how to play appropriately. We recommend that she go to a home with children age 8 and older, because she is rambunctious and will knock over little ones and steal their toys. She just needs to learn some manners. She also has some fear issues with sounds.
Annie loves other dogs and we would like to see her have a doggy sibling to play with! She likes to entice her foster siblings to play tug with her rope toys or throwing a stuffy in the air.
Annie is a super sweet girl who would love a family of her own. Could it be you?
Located in Kansas currently, but can be transported nationwide to approved adopters.

While Selima does not have back legs, it does not stop her at all from scooting around & living her best life.
Tipsy

Up to date on vaccinations & spayed
-
Special Needs: Will need to use wheelchair for long walks
-
Good in a home with other dogs & children
-
Prefers a home without cats or other small animals
Tipsy was estimated to be about six months old when someone broke her back leaving her nearly immobilized. She was taken in by Out of the Ashes Pitbull Rescue & then came to us at SNARR in January 2021.
She walks on her own around the house & with assistance from a wheelchair for longer walks (wheelchair will be going with her when adopted). Due to the injury & living uncared for nearly 4months, she has also suffered some strain on her heart. The vet believes she can recover from the cardiac strain with medication & time however she will never fully recover from the spinal injury.
She has little control of her bladder or bowels however she is very good in the house if let out every few hours (she can go about 6hrs without having to potty). At bedtime or when her foster is at work, Tipsy does wear a doggie diaper just in case of an accident.
Tipsy is great with other dogs but will need to eat separate from them.
